Ballarat’s first and only school dedicated to this fantastic art form!

Our mission is to educate participants in ALL aspects of this art form and base it more in character development, satire and the tease, rather than purely stripping.

This school will hold 8 week intensive courses, going with school terms.
Starting with the absolute beginner, then offering intermediate and advanced courses.
Each one culminating in an invitation only performance!

With the right supportive atmosphere, and a nurturing and fun environment, we aim to bring your inner diva to life!

We wish to present these courses with the focus on the more traditional elements of burlesque, like character development, political satire, dance technique, and building your act from the ground up, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

Each course will cover:
The history of burlesque.
Choosing your name.
Creating your character.
Understanding satire and comedy in the context of burlesque.
Dance technique.
Hair and Make-up.
Choosing your outfit.
The right music.
Building your act, purpose and intent.

This venture is born from the desire to bring like-minded people together to enjoy themselves and have fun, regardless of age, body-type or experience.
To take people on a journey of self-expression, all the while having a grand time with sparkles, feathers, tassels and sequins!

You will be nurtured and supported from start to finish as you strut your way to confidence, sensuality, empowerment and glamour!

***Strictly limited class sizes.

****Duration is an hour and half per class.

**** Venue is: The ballarat center for music and the arts, corner of Otway and Victoria streets.

Please note: we will not be offering one off, pay as you go classes.
These courses are enrollment only.
In order to get the most out of the experience and for your enjoyment and satisfaction, 8 weeks is a perfect duration so there is time to concentrate on all the different aspects.

***** It is a Judgment-free zone, and all participants are encouraged to do as little, or as much as they are comfortable with, but an open mind is essential!
